First Day of Work

Today was my first day of work at Innosight. It was really interesting! I got thrown right into the mix of everything from the start. I got there at 9am and instead of having orientation, went straight into a conference call with Matt Eyring, Chris Johnson, and some others regarding a venture capital project that I'll be working on at first. After the call, I went straight to work on some assignments, went with some of the other staff to lunch, and then kept plugging away at my task. The day ended around 5pm.

My orientation will be tomorrow. It was originally scheduled for 8:30am, but now it will be at 1pm.

I'm really excited to be working here. I can't say much about what I learned and what I worked on (the first 100 pages of things I read today had "Confidential Some Company" marked on them), but so far I'm really intrigued by the things I'm doing. There's so much opportunity for new knowledge, in business in general, in the consulting side of Innosight, and in the different companies that we work with. I've learned tons already.

After work, Jill picked me up and we went and signed the contract for our apartment. It's a cute place; we'll post pictures later. We'll move some stuff in on the way to work tomorrow, then I'll help Jill some more when I get off.

I need to send my personal laptop in for some customer care, so we spent part of my clothes allowance on an external drive that will store all our stuff on there (my school files, our pictures, videos, etc.), because I just know Compaq will reformat my drive, even though I ask them not to...
